LOCAL policing and public confidence are top priorities for West Mercia Police and having state-of-the-art facilities to serve and protect our communities from is key to this objective.
I am therefore delighted we have officially had the site handover, with the final touches being applied to the new Redditch Police and Fire Station on Middlehouse Lane to ensure it is set up to supporting both services to carry out their roles effectively.
Officers and staff are gearing up to move into this brand-new dedicated station which will be shared with our partners at Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service.
This joint move will ensure we can deliver the highest quality emergency response to the people of Redditch and surrounding areas and free up more money to be spent on frontline services.
I am sure the public will agree a fit-for-purpose building will provide both police and fire personnel with the tools and resources they need to deliver the best possible service to them.
Officers will, of course, remain visible on the streets thanks to our new town centre teams, as well as our 24/7 response police.
We will continue to be visible and accessible in the heart of the community, which is key to the Police and Crime Commissioner’s Police and Crime Plan.
Members of the public will still be able to make appointments with officers at the new station, via our website and our regular advice surgeries will continue around the borough as advertised on our social media platforms and the Neighbourhood Matters website.
I do recommend signing up to Neighbourhood Matters – neighbourhoodmatters.co.uk. It’s another great way of staying in touch with what’s going on in your area.
Finally, thank you for your patience and understanding while we have operated from our temporary location at the Kingfisher Centre.
We will provide further information on the official move date, and we look forward to serving you from our new home very soon.
