FACILITIES at nine libraries across Worcestershire can now be booked outside of regular opening hours for meetings and events.
Evesham, Bromsgrove, Droitwich, Kidderminster, Malvern, Pershore, Rubery, St John’s and Stourport libraries can be accessed by customers using their library card if signed up to the Libraries Unlocked membership scheme.
The spaces for hire come with video conferencing technology, fast WiFi and flexible and accessible room set ups. There are special discounts for nonprofits and community groups.
Councillor Karen May, cabinet member for communities for Worcestershire County Council said: “Our libraries continue to be a hub for the community, offering affordable, flexible spaces for businesses, non-profits, and local groups.
“We are proud to provide modern facilities that are accessible to everyone, and our new online booking system makes it easier than ever to reserve rooms for meetings, events, and more.”
During Libraries Unlocked hours, card holders can do a range of tasks such as borrow, return and renew library items using self-service kiosks, use a library computer with free WiFi, and print documents.
