A KIDDERMINSTER charity has a wide range of refurbished adult and children’s bicycles for sale and is appealing for volunteers to support its thriving community bike shop ‘Spokes’.
The Emily Jordan Foundation supports people with learning and physical disabilities to live fulfilled and independent lives and Spokes is just one of their projects.
Through Spokes, trainees work alongside experienced staff to restore and service donated bicycles, giving them a new lease of life before they are sold to the public at affordable prices.

The scheme not only promotes sustainability but also ensures quality bikes are accessible to families across the community.
In addition to selling refurbished bicycles, Spokes offers repairs and maintenance services. With an extensive supply of spare parts, most common faults can be fixed on-site.
The scheme receives donations from members of the public who no longer need their bikes. Each donated bicycle supports the foundation’s wider charitable work while providing someone else with an affordable option for leisure cycling or everyday travel.

The charity is continually seeking further bike donations and is now recruiting volunteers to help run the shop. Duties include receiving donations, assisting customers with sales, booking in repairs and welcoming visitors.
No specialist knowledge is required. A friendly attitude and willingness to help are all that are needed.
A spokesperson for The Emily Jordan Foundation said: “You’ll be supporting a great cause, meeting new people and helping bikes find new homes.
“If you would like more information, we’d love to hear from you.”

The showroom can be found at: Unit 9. Finepoint Way, Kidderminster.
