Alveley Village Band set to bring 'The Music of James Bond' to Kidderminster's St George's Church

A CHURCH in Kidderminster will be hosting ‘The Music of James Bond’ when Alveley Village Band (AVB) comes to town.

The concert will take place at 7.30pm on Saturday, July 26, at St George’s Church.

Although the band is Shropshire based, many of its players are from the Kidderminster area.

Joining the band will be soloists Nina Aver and William Hayward who will perform a host of songs from the films, including the classics ‘From Russia With Love, ‘Goldfinger’ and ‘Thunderball’ along with later music ‘Tomorrow Never Dies’, ‘Skyfall’, ‘The Writing’s on the Wall’ and, of course, the iconic James Bond theme.

AVB musical director Garry Bailey said: “We’re really looking forward to presenting our James Bond concert.

“The evening will take a tour through all the musical highlights from most of the films.

“The band has been rehearsing very hard for what promises to be a very enjoyable and spectacular event which will hopefully leave our audience ‘shaken and stirred’ in a good way.”

Jenny Jarvis, from the Alveley Village Band, said: “We are really looking forward to performing – there are so many fantastic songs in the James Bond films.

“We intend to play out these wonderful tunes on what promises to be a highly entertaining evening at this truly stunning venue.”

Tickets for the concert are £10 (children under 12 go free) from ticketsource.co.uk/alveley-village-band/ or on the door. Email: [email protected] for more on the band.
