Bewdley Carnival committee urging charities and good causes across the town to get in touch for funding

Kidderminster Editorial 6th Feb, 2025

BEWDLEY Carnival is appealing for for local charities or non-profit organisations to support and is urging them to get in touch, writes Gabrielle Brown.

A random draw will decide the recipient, so groups are urged to put themselves in with the chance to win.

Each charity will receive a percentage of the money raised during the year.

All events across the year aim to contribute to community spirit and raise as much money as possible for the selected charities.

Last year’s recipients

Bewdley Community Marching Band received £500 to purchase new uniforms, bespoke ties and to fund their computer music programme last year and Bewdley Bowling Club received £250 to help it with hosting events and meetings across the year to help with refurbishments.

Other causes to benefit included the Riverside Elm Church which used the cash to provide hamper for residents struggling around Christmastime, Homestart Wyre Forest which used its donation to help families in need with emotional and wellbeing support, toys, clothes, trips out and more.

And Bewdley Primary PFTA was able to buy books with its donation for the school’s brand new library.

Any local charity, club, non-profit organisation or society can visit: bewdleycarnival.co.uk and click the ‘local causes’ tab to register.

The deadline for submissions is March 31.
