WITH Christmas drawing closer and families beginning to shop for presents, a Bewdley church is hosting a shoebox packing party to help families in need.
Riverside Elim Church has planned the event for people to join the team in making a difference to children living in poverty, war and difficult circumstances.
Taking place on October 29 from 11am – 12.30pm, there will also be refreshments.
The house of lords statistics show that 30 per cent of children in the UK live in poverty.
Donations of items for the boxes include teddies, stationary, toothbrushes, soap, hats, gloves, toys and monetary gifts towards transport.
The church are also looking for people to donate empty shoeboxes and Christmas cards.
