COMMUNITY voluntary organisations and groups in Bewdley have just weeks to apply for the latest grants being offered by the town council.
The Community Grants Programme for 2025/2026 is dedicated to supporting projects and there will be £10,000 up for grabs in total for this financial year.
The primary objective of the programme is to foster a diverse array of community activities within Bewdley, encompassing sporting, cultural, welfare, and charitable endeavours.
Organisations eligible for grants must demonstrate a clear need for assistance and align with the council’s mission of promoting community welfare.
The grants are open to voluntary groups or charitable organisations meeting within Bewdley’s town boundary or within a five-mile radius, with a significant number of parish residents in membership or benefiting from their services.
As part of its commitment to fostering community growth, the council extends special consideration to new organisations facing funding challenges.
In addition to the general grant fund, Bewdley Town Council has dedicated £1,000 of its budget to support sustainable environmental projects.
What the grants cover
Grant applications are invited to fund a range of activities, including equipment purchases, transportation costs, training sessions, town profiling events, financial assistance for struggling groups and special events or celebrations.
However, grants will not be considered for individual activities, general fundraising appeals, or routine operational expenses.
The deadline for applications is June 19 and requests will be considered by Bewdley Town Council’s Finance and Facilities Committee meeting on Monday June 30.
The decisions on the funding will be ratified at the council meeting on July 14.
