Bewdley's first Dementia Awareness Day to take place in the town

Kidderminster Editorial 28th Jul, 2025

BEWDLEY’s first Dementia Awareness Day will take place on Sunday, August 10, writes Abigail Wyatt.

From 10am to 11pm, there will be a dedicated service at St Anne’s Church.

From 11.30am to 3pm, there will be chess and games for all ages in the foyer of Bewdley Museum. That has been organised by Bewdley Chess Club.

From midday in the Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Gardens, there will be information stalls, a raffle, therapy dogs, face painting and the Garden Kitchen will be putting on a barbecue.

And from 1.30pm to 3.30pm, there will be free live music with The Severn Wonderers, a unique group playing music from across the decades.

A host of Bewdley businesses, along with the rowing club, tennis club, cricket club and Bewdley Brewery will be supporting the day.

People are urged to ‘pick up a map of events’ – available from the Green Cobbler and Bewdley Museum – and get involved.
