FIREFIGHTERS in the Wyre Forest are urging residents to be careful when they light fires outdoors, following several outdoor incidents.
In the latest incident, a crew from Wyre Forest Fire Station was called to a fire around 8.30pm on Saturday at Burlish Top Nature Reserve, Stourport.
A small fire, involving twigs and undergrowth, was in dangerĀ of spreading. A thermal imaging camera was used to check for hot spots. The fire service left at 9.21pm.
Fire crews from Wyre Forest and Bromsgrove attended a fire in the open at Lea Castle Drive, Kidderminster, around 10.35pm on Sunday when a blaze spread to fencing panels.
The crews were supported by a Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service crew from Kinver and the fire was put out with water jets.
After checking for hot spots, the fire crews left at 11.31pm.
The incidents have prompted a warning from Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service.
