ARMS trade campaigners in Gloucestershire, Herefordshire and Worcestershire have come together in a fact-finding exercise to highlight the extent of arms manufacture in the Three Counties.
The campaign aims to find out more about who buys the arms and what they are being used for.
More than 100 people have added their names to a letter addressed to more than 25 arms companies, asking for information about the nature of the products they make and the countries they are sold to.
Of particular interest will be any arms capable of causing or enabling injury or death which are sold to countries with questionable records on human rights.
A Three Counties Campaign Against the Arms Trade spokesperson said: “We have not sought to get into any arguments with the companies concerned and very much hope that they will all respond with factual answers to the questions we have raised.
“We look forward to sharing all the results of our enquiries as soon as they are available.”
