AN EXCITING array of activities are planned for this year’s Stourport Cricket Club Food and Music Festival which takes place on the late May bank holiday, writes Mia Whitehouse.
After attracting sell-out crowds for that last two years, organisers have added a second stage for the event which runs from 12pm to 10pm on Sunday, May 25, at the club’s Walshes Farm Meadow ground, off Dudley Road.
Admission to the event will cost just £5, with profits going to help fund the club’s men’s, women’s, and junior teams.
Top class music and street food will be showcased, with headliners including favourites such as Blind Lemon and James Baker. Organisers say there will be even more entertainment than ever before.
Charlie Foley, first team captain, said: “We are looking forward to our third festival and are expecting even bigger crowds, following the success of previous years and I think it’s now firmly entrenched in the town’s social calendar.
“With a second stage this year, we will be able to add a Silent Disco Party where local DJs will have the chance to perform in front of large crowds.”
Gastronomic delights will be dished up by seven local food vendors, as well as craft stalls and cocktail, gin and ale bars.
