LOOKED after children and young people across Worcestershire came together last week to enjoy a day of fun.
Young people declared this year’s theme of Sport and Sensory – with the event, organised by Worcestershire County Council’s Youth Voice team, offering a wide range of activities for children of all ages.
Children enjoyed bouncy castles, face painting, animal encounters, and hands-on creative stations.
Children also enjoyed a barefoot sensory walk, music and art, alongside more active options to keep children engaged throughout the day despite the warm weather.
The event also featured a visit from West Mercia Police who chatted to our young people throughout the day.
The team’s positive and friendly presence helped reinforce the message that the police are there as a safe and supportive service.
Councillor Justin Bowen, cabinet member for children and families, at Worcestershire County Council said: “This event is an important opportunity for our looked after children and young people to come together and enjoy a fun, welcoming day of activities.
“I’d like to extend sincere thanks to Celena and the Youth Voice team for the care and hard work they put into making it such a positive experience.”
Each child left with a goodie bag filled with things they had made, decorated or won – a small reminder of a day spent having fun, being creative, and trying new things in a safe, inclusive environment.
