Firefighters put out two blazes in open areas in Kidderminster

FIREFIGHTERS put out two blazes in the open in Kidderminster, just hours apart.

In the first at 12.14pm on Monday, a crew from Wyre Forest Fire Station were called to an area off Jubilee Drive.

The fire involved 10m of trees and undergrowth. It was extinguished using a water jets before a thermal imaging camera was used to check for any hot spots and ensure the fire did not reignite.

There were no casualties and no other emergency services were required. The incident was dealt with by 12.44pm.

And a crew from Wyre Forest Fire Station was called around 6pm, also on Monday, to a blaze at the recreation ground in Heronswood Park.

The small fire involved a quantity of wood, which was extinguished using backpacks and buckets of water.




There were no casualties and no other emergency services were required.

The incident was dealt with at 6.45pm.
