Flooding Hits Bewdley as River Severn Levels Surge

Kidderminster Editorial 10th Dec, 2024

BEWDLEY has faced significant flooding after the River Severn surged to alarming levels due to persistent rainfall linked to Storm Darragh.

The Environment Agency reported water levels peaking at around 4.5 meters, flooding the riverfront properties and nearby roads.

Residents are urged to avoid low-lying areas as flood barriers were deployed in an effort to mitigate further damage.

Storm-related issues have disrupted transport in neighboring towns including Redditch and Bromsgrove to New Street.

Bewdley Bridge is currently closed due to the water levels.
