THE ANNUAL ‘Santa in the Town’ event will be returning to Kidderminster on December 7.
The event, organised by Kidderminster Town Council, will run from 10am to 3pm at the Swan Shopping Centre.
The celebration will offer a unique opportunity for local families to meet Father Christmas and his helpers, with each child receiving a free gift. The event is free of charge, making it accessible to everyone in the community.
A special quiet session will take place from 2pm to 3pm for children with sensory requirements, providing a more relaxed and comfortable environment for those who may need it.
Kidderminster’s Town Mayor, Coun George Connolly, has urged everyone to go along.
“Please do come along to see Santa in the Town. This is a fantastic free event for the community of Kidderminster.
“I look forward to welcoming you all as the Town Mayor.”
The event has become a beloved tradition in Kidderminster, with many families returning year after year.
Coun Mary Rayner, Chairman of the Civic and Events Committee, said it promised to be a great event.
“All the children in past years have thoroughly enjoyed it. Please come along and have some fun.”
The day is supported by Wyre Forest Council and the Swan Shopping Centre,
Coun Tracey Onslow, Wyre Forest District Council’s Cabinet Member for Culture, Leisure, Arts and Community Safety said: “One of Wyre Forest District Council’s corporate priorities is to bring more cultural events to the district.
“We were happy to support Kidderminster Town Council with grant funding to help make this inclusive festive event possible, and importantly, free for all to enjoy.”
Robert Jones, Kidderminster Swan Shopping Centre manager said: “We are delighted to support Santa’s visit for this year’s event, giving children a wonderful opportunity to meet Santa and receive a free gift.”
And the final word must go to the man in the big red suit.
Father Christmas told the Standard: “Ho ho ho!
“I’m looking forward to meeting and the children and their families at the Santa in the Town Event.
“I can’t wait to bring a little extra joy and cheer to everyone!”
