Gardens across Redditch, Bromsgrove and Droitwich open their gates for good causes

Tristan Harris 4th Jul, 2025

A NUMBER of plots across Redditch, Bromsgrove and Droitwich will open their gates this weekend to raise funds for good causes as part of the National Garden Scheme.

Newhouse Farm in Cutnall Green, Droitwich, will be available to view from 10am to 4pm tomorrow (Saturday, July 5).

The one-acre country garden surrounds a Victorian farmhouse (not open) and offers many old features with new planting schemes and views over open countryside, giving this garden a wealth of interest.

The creativity is abundant due to the resident designer who runs an interior design/craft shop/workshops and a holiday let.

Admission is £6 and free to children.

Another garden opening its gates will be at 2, Brookwood Drive, Barnt Green. Visitors can drop in between 10am and 4pm on Sunday, July 6.

This multi-themed mature garden boasts numerous water features and colourful borders, a formal white garden, wildlife pond and cutting garden surrounded by large rhododendrons which give a colourful display in late spring.

Admission to the plot is £5 and free to children.

Holly Cottage in Beoley is open from 11.30am to 5pm on Sunday, July 6.

This half-acre garden contains a cottage garden border, jungle area, formal garden, rose borders, small orchard and a Mediterranean area with grapes, figs, olives and lavender.

This garden is continually evolving and also features a pond for wildlife, many seating areas and far-reaching views of the Malverns, Abberley, and Bredon hills.

The plot’s miniature donkeys and chickens look forward to seeing as many visitors as possible.

Admission is £5 for adults and free to children.

There is tea, coffee and cake available at all of the open gardens.
