THE HISTORIC St Mary’s Church in Harvington Hall Lane, near Kidderminster, will hold its annual summer fete from 1pm to 5pm next Saturday, July 5, writes Jeanna Karcz.

The event, which will provide the ambiance of a quintessentially English summer fete with activities for the entire family , is one of many fundraisers to ensure the historic building is maintained.

The fete will feature a variety of games, such as a bottle tombola, a raffle draw and numerous activities for children, along with stalls offering cakes, plants, books, children’s toys and general bric-a-brac.

The ‘Whisky Galore’ stall will provide visitors with the opportunity to win bottles of spirits.

Held in the church’s private priest’s garden, visitors will be able to enjoy scones, tea, coffee and a variety of soft drinks from the lawn. Burgers and hot dogs will also be available from the barbecue and there will be a brass band to entertain attendees.
