Hagley team to run 'London Marathon My Way' in memory of Stephanie Perks and for Worcestershire Hospitals Charity

Kidderminster Editorial 7th Apr, 2025

A DEVOTED family is taking on an incredible challenge in memory of their much-loved mum, Stephanie Perks, while raising money for Worcestershire Acute Hospitals Charity, writes Lydia Gee.

On April 27, Steph’s daughters – Hope, Hattie, Connie and Grace – alongside family friend Vicky from Hagley, will lace up their running shoes to complete the TCS London Marathon My Way and raise funds for the wards that supported Stephanie during her battle with cancer.

The family’s challenge will take place on a 10K loop around their local area, passing the Perks’ family home and finishing at Churchill Village Hall.

Each of the girls will take on at least 10K, while Vicky will run the full marathon distance of 42.6K (26.2 miles), ensuring the family’s effort is a true team challenge.

Every penny raised will be split between Lauren 2 and Beech Ward, at the Royal Worcestershire Hospital helping to provide enhanced care, comfort, and support for future patients and their families.

Vicky said: “As the girls’ train for their 10K, I’ll be training to run four 10K legs to keep up with them.

“We’d love as much support and encouragement as possible to keep us going.”

The community is invited to cheer them on and celebrate at the finish line, where there will be a licensed bar, sweets and confectionery and games and activities.

Everyone is invited to show their support.
