A LOCAL college group is organising a host of workshops to help Worcestershire’s GCSE students with next steps in their personal development.

Heart of Worcestershire College (HoW College) has announced a series of GCSE advice cafes this August for students to access support for their next steps following receiving their results.

Open to all local students receiving their results, the Advice Cafés will offer one-to-one guidance on future options including full-time courses, apprenticeships, and higher education pathways.

Sessions will run at the college group’s Worcester, Redditch, and Bromsgrove campuses.

The first sessions will be held from 10am to 8pm on Wednesday, August 21. Followed by sessions from 10am to 1pm on Thursday, August 22 and Monday, August 26.

Sessions are a great opportunity to find out about the courses on offer including Performing Arts, Hair & Beauty, Computing & IT, Games Design, Healthcare Science, Hospitality & Catering, and Engineering.

Prospective students can also find out about the dedicated centres for Plumbing, Automotive, Travel & Tourism, and Construction if this is a route they would like to take.

Michelle Dowse, CEO and Principal at HoW College, said: “At our GCSE Advice Cafes, we want students to feel confident about taking the next step in their education and moving closer to their career goals.

“These sessions are a great opportunity to explore the full range of courses and opportunities available at HoW College.

“Our priority is to help each student find the right path to suit their ambitions while building practical skills needed for success in the workplace.

“With a wide variety of courses across our four campuses, we’re confident every student can find something that matches their interests and aspirations.”
