THE NEWLY revamped Old Court Building in Kidderminster was showcased to the public when a day of guided tours took place last Thursday, writes Tayla O’Hara.
There was positive feedback overall from more than 60 residents who signed up for the event.
Many visitors were impressed with the results of the work transforming the former Magistrates Court by Wyre Forest District Council.
This regeneration was funded by Future High Streets Fund (FHSF), which prioritises the development of struggling high streets.
Coun Dan Morehead, Wyre Forest District Council’s Cabinet Member for Economic Regeneration, Planning and the Green Agenda, said: “We knew that there were people who have been interested in the transformation of the building so we opened the doors to show them what has been achieved.
“Modern facilities and improvements mean The Old Court now provides event space available to rent alongside country-wide innovation projects.”
There is now opportunity to access individual workspace, meeting rooms and shower facilities thanks to this restoration scheme, as there are now three floors of the Old Court and a court chamber which has a seating capacity of 120 people.
The project also upgraded outside public space, including a pedestrian route through town and a small children’s play area.
