THE ORGANISERS of the new-look Kidderminster Street Market said its first day last Thursday could not have gone any better.
The sun shone down and crowds flocked to the town for the event which runs from 9am to 4pm every Thursday and Saturday.
Bescot Promotions Ltd, which is run by brothers Scott and Spencer Evans and has a host of highly successful other markets across the Midlands, has taken over the event.
It was awarded the contract by Kidderminster Town Council after a competitive tender process found it to be the preferred option.
Scott told the Standard: “It was absolutely brilliant – it was like going back in time to the good old days of the market.
“Everyone who visited was very positive and traders were getting good feedback from shoppers.
“We also popped in to some of the surrounding shops whose owners said their trade was up due to the increased footfall.
“It really did exceed our expectations.”
There are a host of stalls on offer, including a fabulous Butcher, fruit and veg, cakes, hot food and drinks, sweets, ladies and gents fashion, socks, underwear, garden ornaments, pet supplies, jewellery, crystals and household goods including curtains and bedding.
Kidderminster Street Market takes place from 9am to 4pm every Thursday and Saturday in the town centre and is easily accessible and dog friendly.
The closest car parks are Weavers Wharf Car Park and Black Horse Lane.
