SPECIALIST life jackets have been bought for the Kidderminster-based Severn Area Rescue Association (SARA), thanks to a local group.
Kidderminster and District Lions funded the equipment and presented it to the SARA team to thank it for the safety cover provided for the duck race in Bewdley on Easter Monday.
Lions President Ron Cross said it would be impossible to hold events similar to the duck race without the support of volunteers from groups, such as SARA.
SARA has response teams ready to assist the police with search and rescue operations and teams are deployed to help with flooding emergencies.
