AN AUTHOR from Kidderminster has had his first book published.
John Reed’s ‘Stories From the Inside Out’ tells the personal experience of men who have been incarcerated and of those who worked inside a local prison.
The book aims to shine a light on exactly how the system works, or what failings it has.
It allows the reader to gain an insight into the situation as it is today.
Before writing the book, John taught poetry and storytelling inside a number of prisons, for the purpose of helping improve inmates’ mental health.
He said loneliness, anxiety and depression were common in the population, but were accentuated in prison.
The book is perfect for people with an interest in real crime and the perpetrators of it and the book explores the
background to those subjects in a very unique way.
