WYRE FOREST District Council’s longest serving councillor is recovering in hospital after having her leg amputated.
Coun Fran Oborski, represents Offmore and Comberton, is at Worcestershire Royal Hospital following the operation last week and is said to be doing well.
Coun Shazu Miah, ward member for Offmore and Comberton, said: “Fran is doing well, she is in good spirits and her mind is still very much on Council business.
“Whenever I speak to her she is asking me about Offmore and Comberton and the wider district and talking about our campaigns.
“She will be in hospital for a short time so myself and Councillor Carroll will be picking up her ward work. We wish Fran a very speedy recovery.”
Fran has represented her local community for 50 years.
In her absence, the public is advised to contact coun Shazu Miah or coun Liam Carroll with any concerns.
Coun John Byng, Chairman of the Council said: “Fran is in the thoughts and prayers of everybody at the Council.
“We hope that she continues with her recovery and with her determined spirit we know that she’ll be back carrying out the full range of her duties as soon as she’s possibly able.”
