A DROITWICH hospital has partnered with a county football team to help them efficiently detect and diagnose player injuries as quickly as possible.

Kidderminster Harriers Football Club has chosen Droitwich Spa Hospital as its preferred healthcare partner for the following year, following on from the success of the previous year’s partnership.

Conveniently based in the heart of Droitwich Spa town centre, and an approximate 20 minute drive away from the club’s Aggborough Stadium, the hospital’s Imaging team will schedule players in at short notice, and scan them within 24-48 hours following a game or training session.

The scans to help them receive a diagnosis quickly so the football club’s medical team can take action as soon as an injury occurs.

The hospital offers MRI and CT scans, as well as Digital X-ray and Ultrasound so can cater for all imaging requests.

Executive director of Droitwich Spa Hospital, Claire Davenport, said: “This is the second year of working with Kidderminster Harriers Football Club, and we are thrilled to continue the partnership.

“We always feel very proud to play our part in getting their footballers back to match fitness, and onto the football pitch, as quickly as possible.”

Paul Biggerstaff, the club’s general manager, echoed the hospital’s delight in continuing the partnership.

He added: “[We] hope to continue building this relationship for many years ahead.

“The services we have access to from Circle are absolutely invaluable to us and the swift timescales they have been able to work to in accommodating us have added huge value to our ability to diagnose, and subsequently treat, injured players.”
