A WYRE Forest law firm has raised nearly £4,000 for a children’s charity, through a range of fundraising activities.
The charity Mentor Link, based in Stourport-on-Severn, provides long-term one-to-one emotional support and mentoring to vulnerable young people.
Partners and staff at Kidderminster law firm, mfg Solicitors, held a charity golf day held at Stourbridge Golf Club, as well as dress down days, office cake sales, selling seasonal hampers and a range of donation opportunities throughout the year.
Lucy Harrold, an associate and CSR Committee member at mfg, said: “Over the past 12 months our colleagues in Kidderminster have joined together and made a fantastic effort to raise funds for Mentor Link.
“The charity and its volunteers work round the clock to support hundreds of young people every week who are going through difficult times, so our donation will hopefully help them to guide and mentor as many young people as possible, but also to form and build on more partnerships with local schools.
“Through our CSR Committee and our Foundation, it’s wonderful to support such a well-loved and respected charity here in the Wyre Forest.”
Andrea Maddocks MBE, founder and CEO of Mentor Link, said: “It was extremely humbling when mfg Solicitors chose us last year as its Kidderminster office charity. Since then, Lucy and the team have kept us updated on the huge range of fantastic events staff have been holding throughout the year.
“To be presented with a cheque for almost £4,000 really is amazing and I can’t thank Lucy and everyone at mfg enough for their passion and support.
“Like all charities, we rely on donations so the funding from them will help us to continue our activities, partnerships and most important, support more young people in and around the Wyre Forest.”
