STAFF and students at Comberton Primary School in Kidderminster have welcomed an Ofsted report which has graded the school ‘Good’ in all areas, writes Surinder Uppal.
The report – published on Tuesday – follows an inspection in January. It highlighted the school’s emphasis on reading, the wide range of extra curricular activities provided and the support given to pupils with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
Other positives included that the early years provision placed a strong emphasis on vocabulary and communication skills and that the whole school had high academic expectations.
Headteacher Deena Frost said: “At Comberton Primary School, we strive to provide an aspirational education that nurtures every child’s potential.
“This recognition from Ofsted reinforces our commitment to continuous improvement and excellence in learning.”
Coun David Chambers, Worcestershire County Council’s Cabinet Member for Education, said, “This Ofsted report is a testament to the hard work of everyone at Comberton Primary School.”
In the report, areas for improvement were also outlined. These included it improving how some subjects were assessed and the continued development of handwriting in the early years.
