Kidderminster's Far Forest School is graded 'Good' in all areas by Ofsted

Kidderminster Editorial 16th Jul, 2025

A WYRE Forest village school has been praised by Ofsted inspectors as being ‘highly ambitious’ for pupils who ‘enjoyed their lessons and achieve well,’ writes Tilly Kellaway.

Ofsted graded Far Forest School in Kidderminster ‘good’ across all five areas inspected – quality of education, behaviour and attitudes, personal development, leadership and management and early years provision.

Mokshuda Begum, head of the school, said: “I am pleased the Ofsted report highlights our ambitious curriculum and recognises the positive culture and climate at Far Forest.

“We remain committed to building upon these strong foundations and are excited about the journey ahead.”

Ofsted reported pupils ‘behaved well’ and ‘enjoyed a rich and diverse curriculum’. They added reading was given a high priority and staff taught phonics ‘consistently well’.

The inspectors also noted how carefully pupils learning was checked to identify and address any gaps in their knowledge and understanding.

The teaching of children with special educational needs (SEND) was also highly praised in the report.

The inspector said: “Pupils with SEND are well supported.

“The school has a clearly defined approach which ensures that any additional needs are identified at an early stage.”

The report also added children could talk confidently about their work, enjoyed many opportunities to develop interests or experience new activities in after school club and were ‘proud to take on roles of leadership and responsibility’.

The school is part of the Severn Academies Educational Trust.

Shelly Reeves-Walters, executive headteacher for the trust’s primary schools, said: “I’m delighted the report recognises our commitment to providing the best all-round education, learning experiences and personal development for our children to thrive.”
