Learn how to discover and preserve your family history at Worcestershire workshops

Sonny Rackham 28th Mar, 2025

HISTORY buffs can explore Worcestershire’s past with a series of new spring and summer events.

Residents can take part in Worcestershire County Council’s workshops which showcase how to unlock the secrets of your family history.

This spring the council is hosting sessions such as House History Workshops and Family History for Beginners, alongside new drop-in opportunities at The Hive in Worcester.

The council say whether you are just starting your historical journey or looking to deepen your expertise, there is something for everyone.

Attendees can also take advantage of expert advice from a conservator on preserving precious documents or visit the council’s digitisation drop-in to learn how to safeguard records for the future.

Claire Haslam, senior archivist for Worcestershire County Council’s Archive and Archaeology Service said: “These events are a fantastic way to connect with Worcestershire’s past.

“Whether you’re tracing your family history or preserving treasured documents, our drop-in sessions offer expert advice, while workshops provide a deeper dive into the county’s rich heritage.”
