THE NEW Chairman of Wyre Forest District Council has been sworn in at the Annual Council Meeting.

Coun Paul Harrison was elected Chairman at the meeting on Wednesday. He has served as a councillor for 25 years and currently represents the Wribbenhall and Arley ward. He succeeds outgoing Chairman Coun John Byng.

Coun Harrison said: “I am greatly honoured to be elected Chairman of Wyre Forest District Council. I am very much looking forward to representing our council and the communities we serve—both locally and beyond.

“I hope that my experience as an elected member will stand me in good stead to represent the district with dignity and pride.”

He announced Citizens Advice Wyre Forest as his chosen charity.
