THE OUTGOING Mayor of Kidderminster, Coun George Connolly, raised nearly £5,000 for his chosen charity during his year of office.
Between May 2024 and May this year, Coun Connolly raised £4,828.33 for the Motor Neurone Disease Association (MNDA) from a number of events.
And this week, he presented a cheque for that amount to MNDA representatives.
Coun Connolly expressed a heartfelt thank you to all the people and local businesses who supported the fundraising efforts for the cause.
He said: “Whether you attended events or donated generously, your support has helped raise a significant amount for this vital cause. Motor neurone disease is a rapidly progressing and fatal condition that affects the brain and spinal cord, leading to muscle weakness, paralysis, and loss of speech.
“The MND Association provides essential support to affected families and funds life-changing research.”
