People invited to Severn Valley Railway’s Art and Craft Fayre

Kidderminster Editorial 9th Aug, 2025

HEAD for The Engine House near Highley Station over the weekend of August 23-24 when the ever-popular Severn Valley Railway’s Art and Craft Fayre pulls in.

Around 40 exhibitors will be taking part, and the event will be a vibrant showcase of local artistry and craftsmanship, celebrating creativity and local talent.

Visitors will also be able to meet and chat with the artists behind the work, and learn about the creative process.

“With our full line once again open between Kidderminster and Bridgnorth, the Art and Craft weekend is the perfect opportunity to enjoy a scenic journey, and indulge in a spot of retail therapy at the same time!” said Lewis Maddox, the SVR’s visitor engagement manager.

“Entry to the event is included in the price of travel, and you can choose from Freedom of the Line or Short Journey tickets.”

The Severn Valley Railway is celebrating its 60th anniversary this year and welcomes up to 250,000 visitors per year.

Run largely by volunteers, the full-size, standard-gauge railway line runs regular steam and diesel-hauled passenger trains along a scenic 16.5-mile route between Kidderminster in Worcestershire and Bridgnorth in Shropshire.
