The popular event was bathed in bright sunshine as hundreds of people lined the streets to watch the procession go by.

Almost 700 Scouts, Beavers, Cubs, Guides, Brownies, Rainbows and more were part of the mass gathering.

They met in New Road before parading to Kidderminster Harriers’ Aggborough Stadium.

There – with everyone sitting on the fittingly red and white seats – a celebration service was held and there was a reaffirmation of theĀ  Scout and Guide promise.

Groups from across the Midlands had joined for the extravaganza.

Among them was Kings Norton Youth Marching Band from south Birmingham which was taking part in its first ever Kidderminster St George’s Day Parade.

After the service, the parade made its way back through the town centre where the Deputy Mayor of Kidderminster took the salute.

These pictures taken by Kidderminster photographer Colin Hill perfectly capture the celebratory atmosphere of the day as the town came together to commemorate England’s patron saint.
