BAXTER College students benefited from a hands-on learning experience during their Activites Fortnight.
Throughout the two-weeks, students enjoyed professional-led workshops, residential trips and days out.
Lord Rooker spoke to students about his role in the House of Lords, an official from the Bank of England provided some insight into a financial career and Medical Mavericks gave students an introduction to healthcare and medicine.
Students with an interest in animals and conservation were able to visit Dudley Zoo and Warwick Castle for the day.
Italian and performing arts students had the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity of a five-day trip to Lake Garda, Italy, where they performed in an open-air gala concert.
In school, creative students demonstrated their skills at the ‘trashion show’, where clothes were made from recycled materials.
Baxter College headteacher, Katie Beech, said: “Our students have shown great enthusiasm, immersing themselves fully into the activities and demonstrating passion and a real sense of adventure.
“Such experiences will live with them for a long time, broadening their horizons and knowledge.”
Other experiences throughout the week included Duke of Edinburgh expeditions, a residential at Blackwell Adventure Outdoor Activity Centre and a tour of Old Trafford football stadium.
