MORE THAN 18 local organisations are looking for volunteers to take part in a Volunteer Fair in Kidderminster, writes May-Ling Turner.
This event – which will take place at Kidderminster College from 11am to 1pm on January 30 – follows last year’s fair which was highly successful.
Wyre Forest District Council has organised the event in partnership with UNITY (the employment services team at Community Housing), Wyre Forest Citizen Advice Bureau and Kidderminster College.
Local charities, groups and other organisations rely on the goodwill of volunteers.
They will be promoting a number of available exciting roles.
Stand holders include Wheelie Different, Mentor Link, Worcestershire Wildlife Trust and more.
Wyre Forest District Council will also attend to promote volunteering opportunities with the rangers, Bewdley Museum and the Adopt a Street scheme.
Volunteering is a great opportunity to gain new skills, meet new people and to put on the CV for future employment.
Coun Tracey Onslow, Wyre Forest District Council’s cabinet member for culture, leisure, arts and community, said: “Whether volunteers dedicate a few hours each week or just once a month, we appreciate the time and effort they give.”
Everyone can get involved with lots of opportunities on offer.
