MORE THAN 30 firefighters have battled a blaze on the seventh floor of a tower block in Kidderminster this afternoon.
Six Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service crews – two from Wyre Forest, two from Bromsgrove and one each from Droitwich and Redditch Fire Stations – were sent to the scene in St Cecilia Close.
Also in attendance was the aerial ladder platform from Worcester to enable firefighters to reach the flat.
Water jets were used to extinguish the fire which was contained within one flat.
One ambulance, three paramedic doctors, the Trauma team and heart paramedics also attended but, fortunately, no-one needed medical treatment.
Emergency services were called out around 1.20pm. Police attended, as well as the fire and ambulance services.
The incident is now being scaled down but two fire crews remain, checking for hot spots to ensure the blaze does not reignite.
