Stourport students set to perform High School Musical this week

STUDENTS from Stourport High School are set to perform Disney’s High School Musical with a 60-strong cast and behind the scenes support.

The show was chosen through a student vote and can be seen on Wednesday and Thursday, December 4 and 5 at 7pm.

Year 11 student Toby Smith plays the part of Troy Bolton, Daisy Innes-Davies from Year 10 will be performing Gabrielle Montez and Sharpay Evans will be played by Year nine student Izzy Hale.

Head of performing arts Lily Crumpton, who is supporting back stage, said: “It’s a fast-moving, fun production which showcases the dedication of our young performers.

We are immensely proud of their commitment to this exciting venture.”

She added thanks to The Monday Night Group for technical assistance and to parents for their support.




The show features Year 10 students Harvey-James Gibson, guitarist with James Soames taking the reigns as stage manager.

Drama teacher Stacie Palmer-Young and head of film and media studies Peter Holland are directing the production with choreography by dance teacher Sam Nelson.
