OVER 1,200 residents took part in a survey aimed at helping Stourport Town Council create a vision for the town’s future.
The results of survey, which took place from August 5, to September 27, will provide a blueprint to inform plans and decisions to enable the council to apply for grants and funding.
Chair of the working group, Coun Jackie Griffiths said: “People who completed the survey gave our town an average rating of 3.1 out of 5 stars.
“We want to take this average rating and work on ways to improve it and that is where your suggestions will help.”
She added that some requests are out of remit but the council will make sure views are heard and highlighted to authorities.
Coun Tim Schmeising-Barnes added: “It’s great to see so many people having their say on the future of Stourport, these people are the future of the town and we really appreciate them getting involved.
“We have almost 12,000 comments to go through, these will help us shape our Stourport Future Vision document which will be published by Spring 2025.
“Rather than make people wait until then to find out what the people of the town have said we will publish an initial report in mid-November summarising some of the key points raised in the survey.
“From there we will be able to open up further consultation on what people feel is the most important for us to work on initially.”
