A SPECIAL event will take place in Bewdley on Thursday, May 8, to celebrate the 80th anniversary of Victory in Europe (VE Day).
The VE Day 80 commemoration, organised by Bewdley Town Council, will run from 8.45pm to 9.30pm.
A short outdoor service will take place outside St Anne’s Church on Load Street to commemorate Victory in Europe.
The event will conclude with a beacon lighting.
Road closure
Load Street will be shut – from the Real Ale Tavern up to and include the back of St Anne’s Church – from 8.30pm to 10pm.
Royal British Legion coffee morning
The Bewdley Branch of the Royal British Legion (RBL) will be hosting a free coffee morning to celebrate VE Day in Bewdley Guild Hall on Thursday, May 8, from 10am to 1pm.
On Sunday, May 11, Bewdley Concert Band will be playing in Jubilee Gardens, at the back of the museum starting at 1.30pm.
