WORK is under way on building 211 new homes on Pearl Lane in Stourport, writes Sage Whitfield.

To mark the milestone, Wyre Forest MP Mark Garnier OBE was joined by Barratt Homes West Midlands’ managing director, Adrian Evans, for a special ‘sod-cutting’ ceremony to officially mark the beginning of the development.

When completed, there will be two, three and four-bedroom properties and the construction process will bring 422 jobs to the area.

‘Brand new community and significant investment’

The Pearls will form a brand new community that will bring significant investment into the area. It will open up the doors to a wide range of essential and entertainment amenities, as well as convenient travel to Kidderminster and Worcester.

Mr Garnier said: “It was a pleasure to visit this new housing development in Stourport, set in such a scenic part of Wyre Forest.”

The MP added he was looking forward to seeing the end result.

The developer said properties on The Pearls were being built to a high quality standard and would be highly energy-efficient.

Potential residents will be able to take advantage of Stourport’s beautiful canal landscapes and highly-rated schools.

Mr Evans said: “We were thrilled to be joined by Mark to celebrate the start of construction at our Stourport development, The pearls.”
