Wythall and Hollywood Fun run set to be a hot one

Kidderminster Editorial 21st Jun, 2025

WYTHALL and Hollywood Fun Run is returning this weekend and is set to be bigger and better than ever.

There are more than 750 people registered to run, which is up around 150 from last year.

On the day, there will be three races – a 5k, 10k and family relay – along with an event village boasting food, drinks and entertainment.

As well as the runs, the event also offers the chance for families to have plenty of fun and take part in activities.

There will also be the chance to try a new sports, including tennis, bowls and archery.

And attendees will have the chance to try adapted versions of tennis and cricket, designed for people with sight loss but adapted for those without sight, giving everyone the opportunity to experience the sport.

People will have the chance to take post run pictures with the official Wythall and Hollywood Fun Run banner.

With the mercury soaring and the heatwave set to continue, organisers are reminding people to take the weather into account, wear something cool, bring water and make sure they stay hydrated throughout the day.

Roads will start closing from 9am, with Silver Street, Batemans Lane, Packhorse Lane, Middle Lane, Wilmore Lane and Brick Kiln Lane with everything fully closed at 9.45am.

Roads will be fully open at 12 noon.

The community event is a partnership between Wythall Community Association together with Olympic Medallist and World Champion runner, Steve Cram’s Events of the North Team and is supported by Worcestershire County Council’s Public Health team.
