NICK Wilkinson scored the winning run as Bewdley CC claimed a dramatic two-wicket victory against Colwall.
Wilkinson scored the single required for victory from the final ball of the match at Stowe Lane.
The run moved Bewdley on to 238-8 at the end of their 50 overs after Colwall posted 237-7 in their innings.
And the result means Bewdley sit top of the Worcestershire County League Division One table after winning all five of their matches this season.
Bewdley won the toss and elected to field as Colwall openers Bruno Recordon (24) and Robert Cook (30) produced a 55-run first-wicket partnership.
And Jack Collins (84) then came to the crease to propel Colwall close to the 200-run mark while Jackson Heath (35 not out) added some useful runs in the middle order.
Damon Gariff (2-34) and Sam Wilson (2-49) picked up a couple of wickets apiece as Colwall closed on 237-7.
Bewdley made a slow start in reply as openers Michael Harris (6) and Luke Corrigan (5) fell for single figure scores.
And Colwall then ran out Jamie Boyle (18) to leave the visitors on 53-3.
However, Rob Combes (56) and Gariff (81) produced a crucial 97-run fourth-wicket partnership.
And Simon Mauger (23) and Michael Hayes (11) added useful runs which left Bewdley needing seven runs for victory in the final over.
Wilkinson (8 not out) hit a crucial boundary off the second ball before running a single which put Robert Crane (1 not out) into bat.
Crane survived a dot ball before running a single which left Bewdley one run from victory with one ball remaining.
And Wilkinson duly ran the required single to continue Bewdley’s perfect start to the season.
Bewdley are next in action against Brockhampton on Saturday, May 24 with the game to begin at 12.30pm at Lower Park.
