STOURPORT-on-Severn CC dominated opponents Barnt Green to claim a winning draw and move up to second in the Worcestershire County League Premier Division table.
Impressive knocks from Peter Hawk and Siddarth S Ahhuja saw Stourport close on 298-7 at Cherry Hill Road.
And Stourport then took nine wickets with the ball as Ryan Derrick claimed a five-for.
Barnt Green closed on 129-9 at the end of their 50 overs as Stourport came away from the fixture with 18 points.
Stourport scored freely with the bat as openers Samuel Foley (33) and Hawk (79) put on 78 runs for the first wicket.
All but one of Stourport’s batters reached double figures as Ahhuja (78) produced a fine innings from just 46 deliveries.
And Naeem Abbas (28 not out) also scored late runs to help Stourport close on 298-7.
Only two Barnt Green batters managed double figures in reply as Stourport ripped through the home side’s middle order.
Fergus Roll (12) helped Barnt Green reach 41-2 after Derrick (5-35) claimed the wicket of Milan Dogra (1) in the third over.
Barnt Green lost eight wickets for the addition of just 84 runs as Junaid Iqbal (3-38) claimed three scalps.
And Ahhuja (1-8) produced eight maidens from a 12-over spell at an economy of just 0.67.
However, Hayden Froggatt (85 not out) faced 139 deliveries to frustrate the Stourport attack while Barnt Green’s tail order dug in to reach the end of their 50 overs.
Stourport are next in action against Bromsgrove on Saturday, June 21 with the game to start at 12pm at Walshes Meadow.
