CENTURIES from Craig Wood and Mark Bagley inspired Stourport-on-Severn CC to a 29-run win against Himbleton.
Wood (158) and Bagley (116) hit boundaries galore as Stourport posted a mammoth 440-9 from their 50 overs at Harrow Lane.
Himbleton opener Alex Clarke (123) hit a century in reply as the home side fell 29 runs short of the required total.
The result means Stourport sit second in the Worcestershire County League Division Three table.
Himbleton won the toss and elected to field as George Clifton (2-68) bowled Stourport opener Brad Worton (2) early in the innings.
However, fellow opener Bagley motored to a fine century which included 15 fours and five sixes.
He combined superbly with Wood who went past the 150-run mark with 17 fours and nine sixes.
Only Stephen Yarsley (27) made double figures of Stourport’s remaining batters as the visitors closed on 440-9.
And Himbleton opener Clarke ensured the home side made a strong start in reply with 13 fours and also nine sixes on his way to a century.
Himbleton’s middle order also made useful contributions as Alastair Pretty (46), James Mann (37), Jon Critchlow (35) and Richard Pretty (31) all chipped in.
And John Greaves (66 not out) also formed a late partnership with Tom Godwin (26).
However, Seb Dyer (3-75) and Matthew Delo (2-76) took crucial wickets as Himbleton finished on 411-9 just 29 runs short of victory.
Stourport are next in action against Lye on Saturday, May 24 with the game to begin at 12pm (midday) at Walshes Meadow.
