STOURPORT-on-Severn CC claimed another nine-wicket victory after skittling opponents Pershore for just 54 runs.

Stourport needed just 7.2 overs to reach the required total after bowling out Pershore for 54 in 28.4 overs at Walshes Meadow.

The result means Stourport remain top of the Worcestershire County League Premier Division table after securing successive nine-wicket victories.

Stourport won the toss and elected to field as the home attack stunned the visitors by taking a flurry of wickets from the off.

Charlie Foley claimed four scalps while Siddarth Ahhuja took three wickets, Oliver Uffindal two and Ryan Derrick one.

And Stourport quickly scored the required runs as Peter Hawk and Sam Foley guided the hosts to another dominant win.

Stourport are next in action against Worcester Nomads on Saturday, May 3 with the game to begin at 12pm (midday) at Station Road.

Elsewhere, the club’ second XI claimed a two-wicket success at Droitwich Spa in Division Three.

Stourport put Droitwich into bat and took a pair of quick wickets to leave the home side on 9-2.

A strong fourth-wicket partnership between Tom Hodgson (33) and Paul Bryan (23) put Droitwich back on track.

However, a flurry of wickets saw Droitwich slip from 77-4 to 118 all out as Craig Siwicki (3-15) and Matt Delo (3-25) both impressed with the ball.

In reply, Stourport opener Michael Pratt (48 not out) played a steady innings with only Siwicki (10) and Jack Delo (14 not out) reaching double figures.

Droitwich had Stourport in trouble on 77-8 before Pratt and J Delo guided the visitors to a narrow victory at St Peter’s Playing Fields.

However, the club’s third XI suffered a seven-wicket defeat against Alvechurch and Hopwood in Division Seven (North).
