WORCESTERSHIRE CCC have signed New Zealand international Henry Nicholls for the next part of the County Championship season.
The 33-year-old left-hander can feature for the Pears up until the end of June and brings some much-needed experience to Worcestershire’s top order.
Nicholls has represented New Zealand in 56 test matches, scoring nearly 3,000 runs including nine centuries.
He helped the Black Caps win the inaugural World Test Championship in 2021.
Nicholls said: “I’m really looking forward to this opportunity with Worcestershire.
“I’ve always been a fan of county cricket, and to contribute to a team with such a rich history and passionate following is something I’m excited about.
“I can’t wait to get started and help the team out.”
Worcestershire head coach, Alan Richardson added: “Henry is a proven performer at the highest level, and we’re thrilled to have him with us for the next part of our Championship campaign.
“His experience, temperament, and ability to play match-defining innings will be a fantastic asset to our squad as we look to start the season strongly.”
Nicholls could make his Pears debut in the County Championship against Durham tomorrow (Friday, April 25) at New Road.
