ASHLEY Hemmings has won the Kidderminster Harriers Independent Supporters Trust (KHIST) player of the season award.

Hemmings earned 44 per cent of the votes from KHIST members to win the award.

The striker scored 30 league goals as Harriers just missed out on promotion and an immediate return to the National League.

He also provided 12 assists as Kidderminster’s season came to an end against Chester in the play-off semi-finals.

Defender Reiss McNally finished second with 16 per cent of the votes while Caleb Richards finished third with 11 per cent.

Some eight players shared the remaining 29 per cent of the votes.

KHIST head of communications, Tim Gibbons said: “Ashley was a truly deserving winner of the award.

“His incredible goalscoring ability and outstanding form, particularly from January onward, were key in the team’s unbeaten run towards the end of the season.

“While it’s disappointing that his efforts weren’t rewarded with promotion, we hope that he, along with his teammates, will come back even stronger next season.”
