BOTH Jack Bailey and Mike Bridges scored hat-tricks as Bewdley Town romped to a 7-2 win at Evesham United Development in the Wiseman Lighting Floodlit Cup.
Bailey completed his treble in the second half while substitute Bridges scored a 20-minute hat-trick and Jake Hollylee also found the net at the Spiers and Hartwell Stadium.
The visitors took the lead when Bailey slotted home from inside the box before the same player doubled his tally for the game four minutes late with a well-taken strike from the edge of the penalty area.
Bewdley increased their lead after the break on 59 minutes as Hollylee finished between the legs of the Evesham goalkeeper.
Town won a penalty soon after only for Bailey to see his spot kick saved by the keeper to deny the Bewdley man a hat-trick.
However, substitute Bridges took the game out of Evesham’s reach on 68 minutes with a fine effort from the edge of the box.
Evesham threatened to produce a miraculous comeback with just under 20 minutes left to play after scoring a pair of quickfire goals.
Bridges settled any nerves when he cut in from the left wing and curled the ball into the net to score his second goal of the game.
And less than a minute later, Bailey completed his hat-trick with a header before Bridges rounded off the scoring with a trademark free-kick from 25-yards out to complete a treble of his own.
Bewdley are next in action against Redditch Borough on Saturday, October 19 with kick-off at 3pm at Ribbesford Meadows.
