A DEPLETED Bewdley Town surrendered a half-time lead in a 3-2 defeat away at Wantage Town.
Bewdley twice took the lead courtesy of goals from Jake Hollylee and Mikey Bridges only for Wantage to stage a late turnaround atĀ Alfredian Park.
The result means Bewdley sit 13th in the Hellenic League Division One table after suffering a fifth league defeat in their last six matches.
Bewdley named a bare starting XI but made the perfect start when Hollylee latched onto a loose pass and fired home after just two minutes.
However, Wantage drew level almost immediately after David Agyekum committed a foul in the box and Callum Crook scored from the penalty spot.
The visitors reclaimed the lead on 24 minutes when Bridges drove a shot into the back of the net after the ball broke kindly to the striker in the box.
Bewdley lost Umaru Saho to the sin-bin for dissent on 75 minutes and Wantage made the most of the extra man to turn the game on its head.
Just two minutes later, Stephen Robertson equalised for the home side after Bewdley goalkeeper Kai Lloyd spilled a routine catch.
And Wantage completed the turnaround just a minute later when Crook found the net from outside the penalty area.
Bewdley were briefly reduced to nine players after losing Ben Espley to the sin-bin before Wantage had Lewis Hutchinson sent off in injury time.
Bewdley are next in action against Carterton on Saturday, November 23 with kick-off at 3pm at Ribbesford Meadows.
