ASHLEY Hemmings scored a hat-trick as Kidderminster Harriers romped to a comprehensive 5-0 victory away at South Shields.

After Kyle Morrison put Harriers ahead, Hemmings doubled the away side’s lead before Maz Kouhyar all but sealed the points for Phil Brown’s side at the First Cloud Arena.

And Hemmings struck twice more to complete his treble with Kidderminster now having scored 11 goals in their last two away matches.

The result means Harriers sit fourth in the National League North table, eight points behind leaders Scunthorpe United with a game in-hand.

Harriers broke the deadlock on 14 minutes when Morrison headed in David Worrall’s free-kick from the left via the underside of the crossbar.

And Hemmings doubled Kidderminster’s advantage on 35 minutes after Amari Morgan-Smith chested the ball into the scorer’s path who finished across goal into the bottom right corner.

The visitors made it three two minutes after half time as Kouhyar raced onto a ball in-behind the South Shields defence and coolly finished past Kyle Seymour when one-on-one.

Hemmings stretched Kidderminster’s lead two minutes later with a header from close range after South Shields failed to deal with a free-kick from the left.

And Hemmings completed his hat-trick and the scoring in style on 65 minutes with an acrobatic finish from eight-yards out.

Kidderminster are next in action against league leaders Scunthorpe on Tuesday, March 18 with kick-off at 7.45pm at Aggborough.
